When a cardholder wins a prize, they will receive a text message and an email notifying them of their prize.
The content of the text message can be set on a per-prize-type basis by your Customer Success representative when configuring the prizes for your sweepstakes. For example:
Amazon gift cards prize text message content:
Congratulations [first_name], you won an Amazon gift card! Redeem it here: [prize_url]
Hotels.com gift cards prize text message content:
Congratulations [first_name], you won money towards a trip on Hotels.com! Click here to redeem: [prize_url]
When a cardholder receives a text message, there will be a link to redeem the prize as shown below.
When the prize is a WeGift prize, the user can click the link directly from their mobile phone to redeem the prize. When the prize is a Venmo payout, the user will be directed to the sweepstakes dashboard to start the redemption process. More detail on the redemption process below.
There is a standard email template used for all prizes. The cardholder will receive an email similar to this one:
The "View Prize" button directs the prize winner to the sweepstakes dashboard where they can then redeem their prize.
Currently, there are 2 types of prizes that an enrolled cardholder can win:
Venmo (straight cash)
WeGift (giftcards for a multitude of brands)
When a user wins a Venmo prize, they will be directed to the sweepstakes dashboard via text and/or email to start the redemption process.
Under the Sweepstake tab, the cardholder will see a list of all prizes won for a given sweepstakes. For any Venmo cash prize that a cardholder has won, if it has not already been redeemed, there will be a button prompting the user to "Redeem" the prize:
Upon clicking "Redeem" a modal dialog will pop open prompting the user to enter the phone number associated with their Venmo account, so that they can receive the funds seamlessly into their already existing account. If the user does not have a Venmo account, entering any phone number that can receive text messages will allow Venmo to send them account setup instructions in order for them to redeem their Venmo cash.
Note that Venmo may take a few minutes to process the payment, but after a short time, the cardholder will receive a notification directly from Venmo. If the cardholder has the Venmo app installed on their phone, the push notification will look like this:
When a user wins a WeGift prize, they can either redeem it directly via the link in the text message they receive, or they can use the link in the email notification to redeem it via the sweepstakes dashboard.
Upon clicking the WeGift link, the user will see their prize, along with redemption instructions, on the WeGift site:
